What the Content Brief Generator Builds

  • Goal and audience: who the page is for and what it should achieve, in two lines a writer can act on
  • Keyword and intent: the primary keyword, the intent and what that intent means for the page format
  • Outline: a draft H1, with one H2 for each secondary keyword you enter, plus an FAQ block from your questions
  • Sources and data: what the writer must cite or use, so claims are checked
  • Internal links: pages to link to, so the new page joins your site
  • Meta draft: a title and description with character counts
  • Checklist: pre-publish checks including sources, links and one primary keyword per page

What It Does Not Do

The tool arranges what you give it. It does not look at search results, measure competitors or invent data. Research the keyword first: read the pages that rank, note what they cover and what they miss, and collect your own data. Then use the generator to turn that research into a brief a writer can follow. For finding keywords for the outline, see our guide to long-tail low-competition keywords, and use the keyword mapping tool to make sure each keyword belongs to one page.

How to Use a Brief Well

  • Keep it to one or two pages. A brief a writer will not read is not a brief.
  • Be specific about the angle. "What we found when we checked 13 pages" is a better instruction than "write a guide".
  • List sources before drafting. It is much cheaper to fix a wrong claim in a brief than in a published page.
  • Review after publishing. Note what worked and update your brief template.

Content Brief Generator FAQs

What is a content brief?

It is a short document that tells a writer what a page should achieve and contain: the keyword, intent, audience, outline, sources and requirements.

Does the generator research my keyword?

No. It structures the information you enter. Read the ranking pages and gather your sources first, then use the tool to organise them.

Does it use AI?

No. It builds the brief with simple rules in your browser, so the output contains only what you typed plus a standard structure.

How many secondary keywords should I add?

Six to ten related terms usually give a good outline. Each becomes a heading, so choose ones that deserve a section.

Can I save my briefs?

Copy the text or download it as a Markdown file. The tool does not store anything.

Does this tool store or send my data anywhere?

No. Everything is processed in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing is uploaded, logged or stored on any server, including ours.
