Free SEO Report Generator — Turn Search Console Numbers Into a Client Report
Type in this month's and last month's Search Console figures and this free SEO report generator writes a plain-language monthly report: changes worked out for you, a short "what stood out" section, top pages, work done and next priorities. It only uses the numbers you enter. No signup, nothing leaves your browser.
Fill in the client name, the period and at least the clicks and impressions to start.
What This SEO Report Template Includes
- Search Console headline numbers: clicks, impressions, click-through rate and average position, each with the change against the previous period
- CTR worked out for you: clicks divided by impressions, so you never copy a rounded figure from a chart
- A "what stood out" section written from your numbers only, such as impressions growing faster than clicks
- Top pages sorted by clicks, with each page's own click-through rate
- The business result you track, like enquiries or sales, next to the traffic figures
- Work done and next priorities in your own words, so the client can see what the fee bought
Where to Get Each Number
Open Google Search Console, go to Performance, choose Search results and set the date range to the month you are reporting on. The totals for clicks, impressions, average CTR and average position sit above the chart. Switch the date range to the previous month (or use Compare) and note the same four figures. For top pages, open the Pages tab and copy the page, clicks and impressions for the rows you want to highlight. The Search Console numbers are rounded in the interface, so a total can differ slightly from the sum of its rows, and the report treats whatever you type as the truth.
How to Read an SEO Report
Start with clicks, because they are visits from Google. Then look at impressions: if impressions rise but clicks do not, your pages are being shown more often without being chosen more often, which usually points at titles, descriptions or a drop in rank for the best terms. Average position is an average across every query, so a new batch of low-ranking queries can push it the wrong way even when your best pages improved. Last, compare the traffic with the business result. A report that shows traffic up and enquiries flat is more useful than one that celebrates clicks alone.
If you want to build the same report in a spreadsheet or in Looker Studio, use the same fields in the same order: the four Search Console totals for this period and the last, the top pages, then work done and next steps. The structure matters more than the tool you use to draw it.
Honest Reporting Rules the Generator Follows
It never estimates a metric you left blank, it never calls a small change a trend, and it flags a figure that fell as clearly as one that rose. If a number is missing the line is simply left out. Position changes are described correctly: a lower number is a better position. Because the "what stood out" lines come from simple rules, treat them as a first draft and add the human explanation (a seasonal dip, a site migration, a Google update) before you send the report.
SEO Report Generator FAQs
Is this a replacement for Looker Studio or a spreadsheet template?
No. It is a fast way to produce a written monthly summary from numbers you already have. If you want live charts, build a dashboard in Looker Studio or a spreadsheet with the same fields and paste this summary above it.
Does it connect to my Search Console account?
No. You type or paste the figures. That keeps the tool free, private and independent of any login.
How is CTR calculated?
Clicks divided by impressions, shown as a percentage to one decimal place. It will be close to the average CTR Search Console shows but can differ by a rounding digit.
What if I do not have last month's numbers?
Leave the previous-period fields blank. The report then shows this period's figures without a comparison and skips the change lines.
Can I send the report as a PDF?
Yes. Click Print / Save as PDF and choose Save as PDF as the destination in your browser's print window.
Does this tool store or send my data anywhere?
No. Everything is written in your browser with JavaScript — nothing is uploaded, logged, or stored on any server, including ours.
